채하가 다니는 킨디에서 내년에 가는 학교에 제출하라며 트랜지션 스테이트먼트를 주었습니다. 학교에 바로 보내줄까 아니면 직접 전달할래를 물어본 걸 보니 직접 보내주기도 하나 봅니다. 하지만 저는 무슨 내용이 있는지 너무 궁금해서 제가 학교에 제출할테니 달라고 하였습니다. 내용을 다 읽어 보니 좋은 말만 써 놓았습니다. 그래도 부모로서 좋은 말만 써있는 걸 보니 기분 좋은건 어쩔 수 없나 봅니다.
퀸즈랜드에 킨디 에서는 선생님이 Transition Statement를 작성하여 학교에 보내도록 되어 있나 봅니다. 이에 구글링 하여 보니 이런 웹싸이트가 있네요. 나중에 한번 천천히 읽어 보아야 겠습니다. Transition Statement의 주 목적은 아이가 학교에 들어가서도 잘 적응 할 수 있도록 아이에 대한 내용들을 학교 선생님에게 보내는 문서(레터)이라고 보시면 됩니다.
Purpose of transition statements
A transition statement is created to build a shared and accurate picture of your child’s learning across the kindergarten year. It includes information about each of the learning and development areas and helps support your child’s transition into school.
A transition statement includes:
• information about your child’s strengths and interests
• information about your child’s learning in each of the five learning and development areas
• the type and level of support that your child requires in both familiar and new situations
• opportunities for you and your child to contribute information that is relevant throughout the kindergarten year and to support their transition to school
• suggestions and strategies to support your child’s transition to school.
궁금한 내용은 킨디는 퀸즈랜드의 필수교육 과정이 아니라서 킨디에 다니지 않은 친구들의 경우 이러한 Transition Statement가 없다는 겁니다. 물론 Child Care Centre에 다니는 아이들은 Kindy 룸의 Educator가 대신해서 작성해 주리라 믿습니다. 하지만 Family Day Care를 다니던 친구나 혹은 집에서 부모가 직접 돌봐주는 친구들은 이러한 내용조차 선생님이 파악이 안되리라 생각합니다.
